Call for Papers – Thought Matters Conference 2017
Hospitality: Engaging the Other
Abstracts are invited for the 2017 Thought Matters Conference – Hospitality: Engaging the Other.
At a time when public discourse is becoming increasingly hostile and where global figures are advocating for a more self-interested way of engaging the world, this conference aims to hold our attitudes and practices as the people of God up to the light.
Join us in considering questions such as: Is God hospitable? What does our willingness (or unwillingness) to open ourselves up say about who we are and the faith we profess? How does the Church exercise hospitality in a post-Church society? How do we engage in public discourse in a world of increasing nationalism and extremism? What does a biblical understanding of table fellowship offer?
The conference will be held on 29 September – 1 October at Booth College of Mission in Wellington, New Zealand.
Abstracts should be submitted by 30 April 2017. Details of abstract requirements are on the conference webpage.
