Reports of the demise of religion have been grossly exaggerated. Demographic Research projects that the growth of religious populations worldwide will be 23 times larger than the growth of the unreligious by 2050. The number of Muslims in the world will nearly double; the number of Hindus will grow by 400 million; while the number of Buddhists is expected to remain at nearly 500 million people (Download the full report here).

Emma Howan, a Cadet currently at the Booth College of Mission, will explore some of the challenges and opportunities that this emerging context holds for The Salvation Army.
Emma holds a BA in Political Science and Religious Studies from Victoria University and before coming to College worked as an analyst of government relations and advisor in governance for the Ministry of Health.
