Thought Matters PUBLIC SEMINAR
Z is for Zechariah, not Zombies
7.30pm, Thursday 27 August 2015
Booth College of Mission Chapel

Tēnā koutou

Thought Matters continues with a look at the figure of the Zombie. Dubbed the ‘monster’ of modernity, the Zombie has become central to how popular culture has theorised (even theologised) contemporary despairs, failures and hopes.

Beginning with a short history of the cinematic Zombie, Malcolm Irwin will critically explore how the Zombie has become big dollars, and how, through the creative flair of George A. Romero, it has, in fact, become a distinctly modern ‘monster’ that ‘speaks’ not of the EXCEPTIONALITY of ‘our’ failure, but its INESCAPABILITY and INEVITABILITY.

See the attached flyer for more information and please pass this on to your staff and congregations.
