The Wellington Theological Consortium is offering a one day seminar on the topic of Peace and War in August.
Featured speakers are Professor Richard Jackson (Otago University), Professor Chris Marshall (Victoria University) and Rev. Dr Jim Veitch (formerly of Massey University).
As major First World War anniversaries are commemorated in New Zealand and around the world this year, Wellington Theological Consortium provides an opportunity to reflect on some of the underlying issues, then and now. A one day seminar features a number of perspectives, from Christian pacifism, just war theory, the changing ethics of war, injustice and terrorism, and the significance of Gallipoli today. Come to be informed – and to work out where you stand on some of these issues.
Saturday 29 August, 9.30am – 5.00pm. Venue: All Saints Hataitai, Wellington. Register now through Wellington Institute of Theology for the pre-conference discount. Otherwise ‘on the day fees’ are $40 waged, $20 unwaged. For further information, email WITLibrary@wn.ang.org.nz
