Tuesday 24th February 2015
7.30pm – 9pm
Booth College of Mission Chapel

Tēnā koutou

‘Army Mother.’ Church leader. Co-founder of The Salvation Army. Evangelist. Lover. Radical. Social reformer and theologian.

Who was Catherine Booth?

Thought Matters kicks off 2015 with a public lecture by Major Dr John Read from the UK and Ireland Territory.

Major Dr John Read is the author of ‘Catherine Booth: Laying the foundations of a radical movement.’ Based on doctoral research, Dr Read will not only explore how Catherine’s musings on ‘practical religion’ and theology were critical to the innovative early days of The Salvation Army but how they continue to speak to ‘our’ contexts.

See the attached flyer for more information and please pass this on to your staff and congregations.

We hope to see you there.
