Thought Matters Seminar

Booth College of Mission Chapel

Thought Matters continues at BCM with ‘Children, Sexuality and the Church.’

Does is it matter how ‘we’ think of ‘them’?

The image ‘we’ hold of children affects what a child experiences and learns at church. Historically, the Protestant church has imagined the child as being both a mixture of evil and innocence, in need of protection and vigilance. These images engender children and shape how they see themselves sexually.

Emma Daly will critically explore how the child is imagined in current church practices and what these images say of the place of children in our lives.

See the attached flyer for more information and please pass this on to your staff and congregations as applicable.

We hope to see you there.
